A relatively little known book by Louisianan Jacques D. Bagur published by UNT Press tells the story of riverboats and railroads along the Red River corridor west of Shreveport. The T&P and its predecessors come into play quite prominently in the later chapters.
The book is called " A History of Navigation on Cypress Bayou and the Lakes." Over 800 pages. Not cheap but worth it! Full of steamboat photos.
