I am recreating Pacific Street in Dallas from the T&P Freight depot to Houston street in G scale [no lack of insanity at my house] 1945 era. I have T&P plats and City of Dallas pavement drawings and I need information and pictures of the points on the turnouts used. I am handlaying track and I suspect a type of 'tongue' was used for this purpose.
Any information would be gratefully accepted.

I have seen photos of Pacific Ave. with tracks down the middle of it--both with and without trains.
Try the downtown Dallas Public Library up on the 6th or 7th floor in their historical archives section.
I bought a photo on eBay a few years ago showing a rather smoke-billowing train hauling down Pacific Ave.
There are a few books too which show Pacific Ave. before the tracks were pulled up. One book discusses the whole story of the City of Dallas wrangling with the T&P on removing them.
Sanborn Fire Insurance maps can provide a historical layout of buildings along the avenue back when.
